Description

While I have no outstanding work of my own hand to display - and it may be a while before I have the skill and confidence to post anything that I draw - I do have a tattoo that I'm infinitely proud of. I wasn't the artist, but I was the canvas, so I feel that I have some right to display what will forever be inked on my chest.

As I type this, that's my only tattoo. However, when they mentioned, "That's a great first tattoo," they weren't kidding - I'm planning my second one now, and am awaiting the funds to get it applied. This one was done in Florida, around January 1st of '09 or so. I never thought to submit it to DeviantART until now. =/

I asked it to be in "traditional" Navy tattoo colors, like all the reds and yellows that those beautiful Sailor Girls are colored in that adorn many a hairy arm. I also had the rope coiled into a heart, as a sign of respect to the man I got the tattoo for. RIP, Dad.

Useful comments would be suggestions on where to get my next tattoo? I plan on having "Ex vitute, honos" (from virtue, honor) in decorative script, and the best ideas I have are on the forearm, shoulder, or back/shoulder blade. Thoughts?
